Attributes for Employment

Unit 1 is my favourite unit but very tough as much work is required from you.  This unit is very brief on the kind of attributes employers needs or wants to see in employees. The table below shows some attributes and its importance to the employer.

Honesty	Employers have to able to trust employees whether it is with handling money, goods or the organisation’s data.
Tolerance	Employers have to play fair attitude towards a employees in form of race, nationality or religion
Confidence	Employers must have much confidence in everything an employee will do will to make the impossible things possible
Determination	Employers must know how best an employee can make his or her own decision towards a specific task
Integrity	Employers must know how an employee can work on his or her own initiative when assigned to do a specific job at a place or been sent to represent the company

The attribution in the table is very important for every employee or applicant to consider first before applying for any job.

Employee’s unique selling point is to set a good target for his or her sales department during marketing and advertisement of products.

What makes you more suited to fill this post than any other applicant?

Every employee should believe in him or herself and what he or she is capable of or can do to motivate customer’s behaviour at work place.

What do you have to offer that the employer might value?

Employee must work wholeheartedly to move the company, respect customer’s decisions and motivate the other staff to build a good team work.

What kinds of things are employers looking for in an employee?

Creativity, punctuality, problem solving, self-motivation, leadership, dependable, tolerance, integrity, determination, team worker, strong work ethics, confidence, persistence, communication abilities, patience.

Football Tournament

The college sport department is hosting a football tournament for the college student which is coming off soon. After the annual debates about which sports activity the students can carry out this summer,  the college sports department asked every class to form a group of team to play in inter- colleges title game, that’s four-team playoff should be implemented in the 2013 season.

The four teams will be selected by a committee in the sports department. The champion or winner of the game or tournament will receive a cup and money and the final match will come off on the Northampton Football pitch.

This is an interesting activity where every student is looking up to. So get involved.

Trip to Thorpe Park

I and whole I.T and Engineering students of Northampton College including few tutors went on a trip to Thorpe Park on the 18th of April 2013. We set of around half 9am and arrived in our destination around 10:50am. We were giving a short summary about the games and activities in the park to let us know what we going to do. When we entered the park we spread out as the coasters were many and everyone has to make a choice.

Thorpe Park is a large playground full of computer based activities. The reason why the trip was arranged for my course was to help us know how computer is used in certain kinds of games or activities. To be honest, the park has nice environment with serene atmosphere and all the games are been controlled by computer systems which are incredible and awesome on how they work.

 I was yet to check out the Swarm, l was nervous at first because of the speed and its g-force which was very high and quick to be honest.  I absolutely loved the Swarm, from the theming, the station, the ride experience itself. I was laughing, screaming and gasping all the way round. l enjoyed the ride and was really fun. Following the Swarm, l quickly worked my way around other coasters like X which was pretty good, the Detonator which was a bit scary as it drops down very fast like you want to shit yourself. I went on Colossus which made me sick but it was a good experience.

There were some technical faults on some coasters where we delayed for like 20 minutes and the queue was too long so l rushed to the fewer coasters like Banana which was also good and comfortable. We were in the park for about 8 hours, and pretty much did all we wanted, so we left. The only ride l re-rode was X - I did went back with few guys from my class.

I was impressed with the park, l really had lots of fun, however, the rides were all available, I didn't experience any ride downtime the whole day - and that is a first for me in a long time, if ever. I noticed on Saw that the effects were all still working, even in its third season. So overall - it's nice to leave the park with a great impression rather than vowing not to return until at least the following season or year.

Easter Holiday

I had two weeks off from college for Easter holidays. l had a good time during the holidays as l went to ltaly to see my family. l spend a week with my family which was a good time. My dad threw a party for my younger brother where we invited lots of people to come over and enjoy themselves. On the Easter Sunday we went to church to give thanks to God and worshipped Him as well.

On the Monday we went out for a dinner and movies after. My week in Italy was very great as l had the opportunity to be with my family during such occassion.

I came back to the UK a week after and commenced my coursework. l used my time properly and did something constructive to improve my acdemic performance.

Presentation

This week started nicely just that the weather was very bad. We had a presentation today in class which was very useful as most student doeswnt have the confidence to stand in front of audience and present to them. l learnt many useful things like comunication skiils, body lanugauges and signs to catch the attention of the audience. Masoud presented on Holidays which was very good as he showed us the good things about holidays, what happens, safety and other important areas when you are on holidays and Hary Mosedell alsio presented on Micheal Schumaucher who is a car racer. l got the opportunity to know about this great man. My presentation was quiete good and l did enjoyed it because l love sports. l talede about basketball. After the presentation l caried on doing my coursewwork.

Learning Strategy

Today was a goood one as the weather wasn't bad, but in lesseon Kate was supposed to give us referrals on  our PDP's and P3 but rather unfortunate she left he folder home. So the class had an opportunity to work on other units. l started proof reading my works which were ready to be hand in the following Monday. l planned a learning strategy for my self to heelp me work to the best of my knowledge and not to waste time in class.

Student's Services and Enrichment Programs

When we went back into the classroom, the tutors talked to us about services to students, where we were given directions to the student’s services, thus the place we can ask questions and get answers about every movement in the school like enrichment programs.

Later in the day, we were asked to go into the main enrollment hall for the final enrollment to be carried out; I followed the queue and on my turned l sat in front of this nice lady, she smiled at me and l smiled back so she started the whole enrollment process by asking me few questions and l paid off my trip fee and other arrears. She took a nice picture of me and made me nice plastic student card which contained my name, student ID, date of birth and etc. l happily went back home and prepared for my course.

In The Canteen

IN THE CANTEEN

The canteen is a beautiful environment to eat and hang around with your mates. I saw people chilling with other people whilst others were sitting alone having something to eat but the whole place was packed full. I went for this soft drink to cool me down so l went to this table asked permission from this lady if l can sit, she allowed me to sit and l started this random conversation and we got along with each other. People were watching you for no reason especially when you stand up which was awkward. When the break was over I went back to my classroom for the last section for the enrollment to be completed.

Second Part of Induction Day

This nice gentleman came into the room, greeted the whole class and introduced himself and when he finished, he made each student do the same thing so what we can know ourselves better.

After the introduction, we did assessment exams which were English and Maths. Later we were asked to fill some documents and signed whilst our results where been cross checked. All went well for us to settle in the class and look forward to what our beautiful tutors have for us.

We were all happy in the class, so l reunited with everyone. Different teachers came into our classroom to cheer us up, talked to us about what we’re going to do, how assignments will handled and everything. I felt relaxed because l noticed l was at the right place. The tutors were friendly and beautiful as they patiently talked to us about things we didn’t know of. So we were asked to go for an hour break.

First Induction Day in Northampton College

Northampton College, booth lane is one of the most popular colleges in Northamptonshire. This user guide is about what happened in Northampton College induction.

I had a great experience in my induction at Northampton College, on my first day at college l saw many people to and fro the college. I was nervous as l didn't know where l was going to meet my tutor and also wondering where my results will lead me to as l wasn't confident. The whole college was too busy, yet l felt excited as l met different kinds of people as in race and nationality. I had a thought that, this my first time and new beginning to my career so needs to calm myself down. I walked around the college, talking to new peoples, asking them questions and also trying to find people l might be in the same class with as l had my curse number and everything on my induction letter. I came across a big hall which is the canteen, l looked around but l didn't know where to go as people there were sitting in groups, luckily for me l heard this nice lady shouting out my course name so l rushed to her immediately.

I end up in this nice class room full of computers, nicely structured room with projectors fitted on top and touch boards for proper views. I was shy to say hello to anyone as l felt the person might ignore me because we don’t know each other yet l was able to move to people, get to know our names and other things avoid been bullied or called anti-social or other weird names. That was the first part of the day.
